Daisy was born April 20, 1923 in Hayden, Colorado. After high school graduation in 1942, she completed nurses training at Mercy Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She then went to work as a nurse in Colorado, Florida, and California before moving to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1949 to fulfill a lifelong dream. While in Fairbanks, Daisy met Bill, an Air Force medic, and married him at Eielson Air Force Base. Over the coming years they lived and worked in many different places including Morocco, Texas (where they had their daughter, Marsha), Nebraska, Florida, England and Ohio before moving to Craig in 1969. Daisy worked for many years as a nurse in the Craig hospital and was a member of the Colorado Nurses Association. In 1977, Daisy and Bill retired and moved to their home in Hayden. With Bill’s passing in 2001, Daisy moved to Marshall, Texas to be closer to family.
Daisy was an animal lover and enjoyed riding horses for work and pleasure. Other favorite pastimes were quilting, knitting, gardening, fishing and traveling. Daisy adored her family and loved spending time with them, and was especially excited with the birth of her great grandson, Wyatt, in November 2013. Though she lived many places, Hayden will always be her home. Daisy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers are: Keith Fisher, Matthew Smith, Ryan Hurley, Marlin Fisher, Mark Hudson and Tim Gilroy.
