Bob Havice’s life ended August 2, 2014, its days traveled along paths brimmed full with curiosity and excitement. He lived in India, Hongkong and Japan; raised race horses; guided hunters and river runners; and served as Park Ranger at Dinosaur National Monument. Owner of New Mountain Archaeology, he focused on Native Americans; a professional stuntman, he acted in some 150 movies; Hospice volunteer, he managed Steamboat’s Respite House. Those he touched along the way will keep the connection.
The special something he shared with youngsters will live in the future. From the 1970s well into the 21st century, kids in Steamboat Ski School classes "listened up" as did last year's after-school students at North Routt Community Charter School. Bob’s youngsters gained a larger perspective of the world and what lay ahead.
Friends and neighbors recognized Bob’s love for skiing, rivers, and wild life, but since their marriage 15 years ago, on Thanksgiving Day in Turkey, Marti Potter gained top priority. She will continue to care for the many animals they fostered.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at North Routt Community Charter School on Sunday, August 17th with a Potluck picnic supper from 4:00 to 6:00. Memorial contributions may be made, in his name, to the North Routt Community Charter School or North Routt Ambulance Service.
