Annie went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13, 2013, after a long and gallant battle with cancer.
Annie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Neil G. Forsyth; their two daughters, April Scheffel, her husband, Loren, and children Lilli and Eliot Scheffel, of Littlefield, Texas, and Molly Manning, her husband, J. Paul Manning, and children Samantha and Cooper Manning, of Lubbock, Texas; and her sister-in-law, Peggy Van Arsdale, of Chesterfield, N.J.
Annie was born March 27, 1944, in Mt. Holly, N.J., and grew up in Columbus, N.J. Annie began her banking career working for Neil’s father at a bank in Bordentown, N.J. After Neil’s father introduced Annie to Neil, they fell in love and married in November 1966. After that, Annie became the secretary to the treasurer of the state of New Jersey.
Annie loved going on adventures with Neil and shortly after marrying, Annie and Neil decided they wanted to raise their family in the Rocky Mountains. In 1970 they moved to Yampa Valley, where she and Neil raised their family. Annie continued her banking career in Hayden and retired as branch president of the Mountain Valley Bank in Hayden, where she loved all of her customers and friends.
Annie and Neil and their two daughters enjoyed many adventures together, camping and hiking in the Rocky Mountains and just being together. Annie was a wonderful mother and friend to her two daughters and treasured her time with her four grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Annie loved having all of her family at their home and loved cooking special meals for her two sons-in-law who loved eating her wonderful cooking, especially her delicious pies and cinnamon rolls.
Annie loved life, her family and friends and enjoyed gardening and flowers. In the spring and summer, her home was surrounded by the many flowers that she would plant and love. After she retired, Annie spent many joyous hours with Neil in their garden.
Most of all, Annie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and now is in heaven rejoicing with her heavenly family and enjoying the beautiful gardens of heaven.
Annie’s celebration of life service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Hayden High School Auditorium.
