Don Grogan of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Salome, Arizona was born February 16, 1938 to Donald Virl Grogan and Glynnellen Batman Grogan and was raised in the Pierce, Colorado farming community. He graduated from Pierce High School in 1956. Don and Jane Foster of Ault, Colorado were married on August 26, 1961 and lived in Ault until 1977 when they moved to Steamboat Springs.
Don was a member of the Army National Guard, serving active duty during the Berlin Crisis. His lifetime career was operating heavy equipment for various construction companies in Weld and Routt counties He also worked at Energy Fuels coal mine in Routt County and with slope maintenance at the Steamboat Ski Area. He retired in 2003 from Peabody Coal Company, Seneca Mine in Hayden, Colorado.
Survivors are wife Jane Grogan, son Doug Grogan, daughter-in-law Emma Grogan, and granddaughters Sara and Julia Grogan; son Chuck Grogan, daughter-in-law Jennifer Penfold Grogan, granddaughter Shea Grogan and grandson Karsten Grogan; sister Glee Grosvenor and nieces, Diana Grosvenor, Bonnie Brennen and Tammie Polmiller and families..
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Grogan, grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Steamboat Springs on April 30, 2016, 11:00 am at Holy Name Catholic Church. A Graveside Service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery, Fort Collins, Colorado on May 3, 2016, 11:00 am followed by a reception at the Drake Center, 802 West Drake Road, Fort Collins.
