Carole Ann (Meisch) Eimers, 73, of Steamboat Springs, CO passed away on July 24, 2016 after a very active and adventurous life.
She leaves behind a son, Adam Eimers, also of Steamboat Springs; and a daughter, Ashley Griffith. Both of whom were great sources of pride for her. She also leaves a grandson, Tré Griffith; a brother, Ronald Meisch; nieces; a nephew; and many special friends, neighbors, and former students.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Meisch; and mother, Beatrice Meisch.
Carole was born in Saginaw, MI on December 31, 1942. After graduating from Saint Peter and Paul High School in 1960, she
attained a BA and MA from Central Michigan University with degrees in Special and Elementary Education. Her teaching career in Michigan began with the Rockford Public Schools, and was followed by 28 years with the Saginaw Public and Saginaw Township school systems. During these years of teaching, Carole also had an interim day care business in her home. This allowed her to help many families, and gave her an opportunity to stay at home while raising her own children.
After retiring, Carole’s dream of living in the Rocky Mountains was soon realized upon moving to Steamboat Springs. She had a strong connection with nature, and
was an avid skier, biker, hiker, and kayaker throughout her life. Her outgoing personality, zest for life, and passion for exploration was evident through her various adventures and travels. Carole was an avid animal lover, and while living in Steamboat Springs, always had Denali by her side. Denali was a friend’s dog, but she loved her like she was her own.
At Carole’s request, cremation has taken place, and a celebration/memory of her life will be carried out at a later date in Steamboat Springs. In her memory, donations can be made to the Routt County Humane Society.
