Hank Edwards
Dec 18,1947- Sept 3,2016
Hank moved to Steamboat Springs in 68/69, while still attending The University of Denver. At that time he worked with the crew that installed the first gondola here, and soon after helped introduce the Nastar Challenge to Mt. Werner. Hank was a Ski School Supervisor until 1977 when he purchased the Tugboat with Larry Lamb. Together they ran the iconic Tugboat Saloon, which was a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Through out his life, he was an active participant in many community fundraising events. He helped start the Typsy Taxi program as well as raising money for the Winter Sports Club, and Junior Golf. After selling the Tugboat in 2011, Hank enjoyed his retirement playing golf and skiing most every day with his wife, DJ, and many friends. Hank will be profoundly missed by so many friends in the valley and across the country. He is survived by his loving wife DJ Edwards, brother Peter and sister Anne, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a puppy named Fish.
