Obituary for Riley Scott Jones

Riley Scott Jones, 21 of Steamboat Springs, formerly of Eaton, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Denver.
He was born on April 18, 1995 in Durango, Colorado to Brad and Tina (Prior) Jones.
Riley graduated from Eaton High School in 2014. He worked for the Town of Eaton for 2 summers while he was in school. He later worked for the Steamboat Today newspaper and he also held various construction jobs. He raced motocross for most of his life and he loved to snowboard. He loved to be outdoors and lived life to its fullest.
Survivors include his parents, Brad and Tina Jones of Eaton; his sister, Bailey Jones of Durango, CO; his grandparents, Patty and Butch Prior of Bayfield, CO and Mary and Jesse Layton of Eaton; his uncles and aunts, Travis Prior of Denver, Kelly and Ed McCaw of Ignacio, CO, Kevin Prior of Bayfield and Russell and Mary Jones of LaPlata, NM and his cousins, Taylor, Austin, Cole, Keyon, Kobe, J.R. & River.
A celebration of Riley’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Hawkstone Park in the Hawkstone subdivision in Eaton. Guests are asked to look for signs on Hawkstone Drive that will guide you to parking for the celebration. Riley’s family asks that you dress for the weather as he would, including ski goggles and snow pants if necessary.
Instead of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Riley Jones Memorial Fund at Bank of Colorado for a charity to be named later.
