James “Jim” Charles Woodcock, 86, of Yampa, passed away, Sunday, December 4, 2016. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, December 9 at Yampa Bible Church. Burial will follow at the Yampa Cemetery. Jim was born January 15, 1930 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Wesley and Ruth (McKinney) Woodcock. He graduated from Yampa Union High School in 1949. Jim served in the Navy from 19511955. On September 16, 1956 he married Patricia “Pat” Jean Strutzel in Yampa. Jim was employed as a railroad engineer for 42 years with the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. In his retirement he enjoyed helping out with ranch work. Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years Pat Woodcock, daughter Diana Morgan (Rick), son Stan (Dee), Diana’s children Nathaniel (Sara), Jeremy (Sharayah), Matthew(Abby), Stan’s children Kendra (Bryan), Kaci, seven great grandchildren, one sister, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
