Obituary for Marguerite Elizabeth Hogue

Marguerite Elizabeth Hogue, passed away December 24, 2016 at HopeWest care center in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the age of 97. Marguerite was born April 16, 1919 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Annie Cullen Squire and Frank Squire. Marguerite grew up on her father’s ranch west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She attended Steamboat schools and graduated with the class of 1937. Marguerite was a lifelong member of Holy Name Catholic church. Marguerite met Charles E. Hogue while he was in Steamboat on leave from training with the Tenth Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Leadville, Co. prior to WWII. They married after the war on Janurary 25, 1947 and in the following years had children Charles J., Mary, Frank, Michael, and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, and daughter Mary Elizabeth. She is survived by sons Charles J., Frank, Michael, and John; grandchildren Brenda Hogue Brown, Lisa Hogue Lodwick, Marcy Alley, Jessica and Justin Hogue, Patrick Pene, Scott Pene, and Cresta Pene Campos; great grandchildren Valente Jr., Sergio, Jasmine, and Julian Campos; Presley, Parker, and Payson Pene; Jack and Shanti Alley. Services will be held 1/13/17 at 11:00 at The Holy Name Catholic Church in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Interment will be in the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
